Tutorial Program

It is no secret that the California Bar Exam has become increasingly difficult to pass. The Tutorial Program offers candidates one-on-one and small group interaction, personal guidance, full substantive review, extensive skills training and exam simulation as well as unlimited practice exam grading and feedback.  It is a full-service, 10-week course covering all 3 sections of the bar examination.  First-time candidates, who require a long-term review, can begin early under our guidance at no additional charge.

One-on-One and Small Group Interaction

Students meet weekly (see schedule) in live, small group, interactive skills workshops where they learn essay writing and performance test approaches and multiple-choice technique.  In addition, periodic conferences with program professors or a member of our academic staff may be arranged as often as needed to address individual needs, including problems with substantive law, essay approach/technique and evaluation, performance test technique/problem areas and MBE questions.

Interactive Skills Training

Essay Writing Workshops

At the heart of the program are our live, in-class, small group interactive essay writing workshops where students learn issue-spotting and essay writing approaches for each subject and analyze past bar exam essay questions and crossover questions.  Students prepare by listening to our substantive lectures and simulating past bar exam essay questions.  These questions are then used in class a tool to teach the writing approaches and problem solving skills.

Performance Test Intensive

A special Performance Test Intensive session is included in the Tutorial Program so that students have an opportunity to simulate the performance exam in-class and interact with professors to identify and correct performance test problem areas.  Students prepare by completing our online Performance Test Workshop series in order to learn technique, performance test approaches and our specially designed attack plans for each document tested.

Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) Workshops

The Tutorial Program also features our specially designed Multistate Techniques Review, a multi-session skills workshop focusing on the multiple-choice section.  It is an essential portion of the program, helping students to identify testable areas of law, common pitfalls and specific problem areas within each subject on the MBE. There are more than 4000 MBE questions available for simulation and review.

Online Skills Training

Skills workshops are also available online for students who are unable to attend the live, small group, interactive skills workshops above.  They can also be used to make-up or reinforce the live workshops.  As above, students learn essay writing approaches, performance test skills and multistate techniques. The skills workshops include:
